COULD YOU BE SOMBODY’S MR RIGHT?
ChildLine in Scotland is on the hunt for single men to take part in a mixed sex Speed Dating night during the West End Festival on 25th June at 7pm. Organisers of the charity event have been inundated with females hoping for cupid’s arrow to hit. Now they need some more lads to even out the numbers.
The speed dating takes place at the Lansdowne Bar & Restaurant in Glasgow. ChildLine are looking for a total of 60 single professional girls and guys aged over 21 to come along for a night of fun, socialising and possible romance. Armed with pre-prepared questions, couples will embark on four-minute “dates” which, according to the experts, is just enough time to get to know someone.
Events Manager, Samantha Bagg said: “At ChildLine in Scotland we're always looking for new ways to involve people in fundraising and our volunteers suggested speed dating. It’s a perfect opportunity to meet new people in today’s busy world and help us raise money to make difference to the children who call ChildLine. Who knows – we might even help people find the love of their lives.”
Girls sit at individual tables. After each date, a bell will signal that it is time for the guys to rotate. Each participant will be given a score card to keep track of the people they meet and to help them decide on their favourite dates. The process continues until everyone has had a chance to meet all their potential partners. Afterwards, any mutual matches will be able to exchange contact details, with a view to meeting up again.
The Lansdowne is providing a complimentary buffet on the night and there will be a chance to win some great prizes in the prize draw at the end of the dating session. All proceeds from the night will go to ChildLine in Scotland, the free helpline for children and young people who are concerned about any problem or issue.
Tickets for the event cost £10 each and must be booked in advance by emailing ChildLine in Scotland at scotlandevents@NSPCC.org.uk or calling 0844 892 8212.
