i think that is a certainty.
i dont care what religions say about it. intelligent life might be rare in the sense that it takes evolution and time.
intelligent life is certainly out there but it is probably just too far out of reach of our technology right now. intelligent life is rare because anything could happen to a planet in the amound of time it takes to have evolution takes it course into intelligent life(meteors,planetary changes).
i think that microbes are probably even in our solar system. the trick of that is though,they might be hidden in very hard to get to place and they cant be seen by the naked eye so that makes it very difficult to detect.

Good topic.
To believe that we are the only life in this universe, seems to me to be the massive human ego talking...
How could it be possible or probable that in SO MUCH space, there would be one tiny plant with life?
I mean, really, if the universe goes on for infinity, the odds are really against humans being the only life in the univerce.
as for intelligent life, that doesnt exist anywhere! LOL!!!
