I've just finished a fantastic book called A Thousand Splendid Suns about growing up in Afganistan and the Taliban take over. You'll be thinking about it for ages after you've finished the book. Recommended! One of my fave books is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Oh, and Jane Eyre!

Emma, have you read 'the kite runner' by the same author.
The thousand suns book is my next book to read on my list and I loved the curious incident of the dog at midnight as well read the follow up 'a spot of bother' by Mark hadden.

Andrew, I read A spot of bother. I enjoyed it. It's not a book I'll remember though, like a great classic. I'm nearly finished The Kite Runner. At first I couldn't really get into it because I kept thinking about A Thousand Splendid Suns but now I'm near the end, I have to say, it's great as well. Very powerful. x
